Get Throwing!

My first official gallery show was held at Peach Tree Gallery in March 2006, and ever since then I have had a wonderful, special relationship with the owner of Peach Tree - Linda Mechanic.  She is a superhero in every sense of the word, and I'll be interviewing her for Sparkletopia next month.

In the meantime, if you live in Los Angeles, or will be here for a visit and are interested in taking pottery classes from an extraordinary teacher, Peach Tree is your place.  Visit the Peach Tree Pottery website for details on classes and her gallery.

P.S.  I'll be hosting a gallery show and book signing event at Peach Tree this September!

Ceramics Alice in Wonderland Would Love

33.jpg

Laurie Pollpeter Eskenazi can work wonders with clay and color...

"Highly influenced by traveling to France, Italy and the rural Midwest. Laurie's inspiration comes in many forms: the chaos of tangled roses and twisted vines that inhabit her garden, old crazy quilts, button boxes, tramp art, and vintage textiles. She wonders about their past and the women who used or created them. The bits of antique lace and other oddities found at the flea market are often seen as tools. Through her hands they are given new life and new stories. Characterized by intricate, whimsical designs in lush, vibrant colors, Laurie's work is about pattern, texture and a bit of nostalgia." -Artist Statement

Heather Knight's ceramics look like something you'd find diving deep in the Great Barrier Reef.  See her work and find out about her latest shows on her website, and buy yourself a Heather Knight treasure in her Etsy shop.

"I find my inspiration in all aspects of nature. My goal is to make work that reflects my touch and recalls the complexity and beauty found in the natural world."  -Artist Statement
