The Spirited Woman Holiday Guide

Here's my question o' the day: Does Nancy Mills ever sleep? I am beginning to wonder...this woman is always up to something! Nancy gave me the honor of inviting me to be a part of her Spirited Woman Holiday Guide Extravaganza, and I am excited to be included the "blog tour" she's conducting this week to promote her guide.  You can find the holiday guide right here.

I interviewed Nancy a while back here, and am happy to introduce her again....meet Nancy Mills, creator and powerful force behind The Spirited Woman.

What is the SpiritedWoman.com?
A growing and very inspired women's online empowerment community, originally founded in 2002 by Nancy Mills, the Creator of the Spirited Woman Approach to Life. Our goal is to inspire women globally - to live life fully with a sense of adventure, freedom, energy, fun - and to be a voice for spirited women everywhere.

Is every woman a Spirited Woman?
Yes. The underlying philosophy of The Spirited Woman is that EVERY WOMAN is born a spirited woman and that YOU ARE ENOUGH AS YOU ARE.

What is TheSpiritedWoman.com known for?
Our inventiveness, community spirit, thinking outside of the internet box (such as our Spirited Woman Video Contest, Singing Contest, Tele-Chat Circle with famous women authors, Holiday Guide..) and our popular Spirited Woman Blogger Team - 9 inspired women from around the world - who are igniting change and inspiring women globally.

Who are the Spirited Woman bloggers?
Ordinary women who are extraordinary. Women with heart, talent, and vision, who cover the beat for spirited women on topics ranging from entertainment, travel, fashion and inspiration, going green to being a Spirited Kid. Our bloggers range in age from 11 to 46. Different races, colors, cities and interests - from moms to single - all with the unified goal of providing a daily dose of positive Spirited Woman news.

Nancy, how do you feel a Spirited Woman would celebrate the holidays?
Just like the spirited woman blogger team - by sharing from the heart and helping to change the world. Giving does not have to cost a lot of money or take a lot of time - it comes from the heart. PARTICULARLY NOW in this great time of change.

Is that why the Spirited Woman Holiday Guide was created?
Yes. It was actually the brain child of our fashion blogger, Dawn Z Bournand in Paris - actually from her "gift for giving" insight the guide was born. I loved the concept and proposed it to our blogger team. They loved it too and created off-line posts that I edited and turned into a PDF guide. This is our first holiday guide ever....we are all very excited.

What is the purpose of the guide?
It is a guide to help you think out of the gift-giving box. Give back. Create change. Take a leap. Make a difference. Inspire others by the fact that you are inspired. And oh yes, have fun along the way. This is not your typical shop-til-you-drop guide. No way. No how.

What type of articles are in the guide?
"I like the idea of buying a goat, a cow, a water buffalo or even a Llama at Heifer, or a gift package at Oxfam because that would benefit the environment and/or a third world country," writes Rosa Wong from Hong Kong.

Yes, this 44-page guide is different. Want to teach English in Ghana on a volunteer vacation? Give a creative gift from the heart? Find out how. What about Going Green for the holidays? Teri Breier, our going green guruess, has created a Special 5-page “Going Green” insert with eco-friendly tips that you won’t find anywhere else. Amazing stuff.

Plus, there are many personal stories - for instance, Naila Francis’s uncles go caroling "house to house" in St. Lucia. Kristin Flannery lost The Polar Express (and fought with a librarian to get it back). Vicky DeCoster, our humorist, writes her hilarious Annual Holiday Letter. Our endearing Alice, known as “the Spirited Kid” writes a magnificent poem Winter. I could go on and on...but you’ll just have to read it.

Also is The Spirited Woman hosting a Blogger Contest?
Yes. Are you ready for this??? Inside the guide is a Spirited Woman Blogger Contest. You MUST open the guide to find out how YOU can become a featured blogger. It's a great opportunity, plus the winner will be featured on the front page of our site.

What does the guide cost?
That's the marvelous part. It is FREE. We want women to share this - for it to be our gift back - that keeps on giving and giving.

We are able to do this because The Spirited Woman has a guide sponsor. I am proud to say that Cleavage Creek Cellars is our guide sponsor. The owner of Cleavage Creek, Budge Brown is an amazing man - actually he was our first "Spirited Man" blogger a few months ago. Budge is a successful entrepreneur, who lost his wife Arlene to breast cancer. He started the Northern California winery a few years ago in her honor and donates 10% of his gross sales to breast cancer research. Each woman featured on the Cleavage Creek wine labels is a breast cancer survivor. He's already raised over $37,000. And through this guide we hope more funds will be raised for breast cancer by buying Budge's wines. We also featured his posts in the guide. He's got quite a story to tell. He's a guy who puts his pocketbook where his heart is.

What's the best way to get the word out about the guide?
Tell your friends. Blog about it. Pass out fliers. Let them know that they can become a featured guest blogger if they enter the contest in the guide. Pick up the phone. It does take a village to give back together. And it's NOW time to do so.

Thank you Nancy for a great interview and for including me in this exciting event!  Once again, take a look at the Spirited Woman Holiday Guide right here!
